Introductory lecture about site-specificity and sound art. Helga de la Motte-Haber studied psychology and musicology, and has since the seventies lectured about Sound Art. She was a pioneer in her field and contributed to shifting the focus of musicology towards contextualisation and the surroundings of sound. In the 90´s she began researching on music compared to other art forms, and wrote the book Klangkunst: Tönede Objekte und Klingende Räume in 1999.
