Soft Revolvers

Myriam Bleau is a Montreal-based composer, multimedia artist and musician. Working on the border between musical performance and digital arts, she endeavours to produce audio-visual systems outside of the screen, thus creating installations and interfaces for musical performance. Her work in the world of pop music has influenced her hybrid electronic compositions, which integrate elements from hip-hop, techno and pop. Soft Revolvers is a performance created by Bleau, who espouses a minimalist approach to composing electronic music and is interested in generating a physical response in listeners. She explains: “It’s about pure tones [and] perceptual effects, high frequencies, really low frequencies, and extremes, and playing around with your ears. I like giving a really nice experience that’s well composed, well timed.”
