Rival Consoles is Ryan West's one man project. The academic and sound enthusiast spent most of his younger days experimenting with IDM, glitch and dance music. However, what really defines his work is a search for an organic and homogeneous sound. Just a have a listen to one of his many innovative productions.
West works with big and small sounds that come from analogue machines. They are broken down by noise, percussion and huge, intense synth sounds. This battle between the small details and the massive melodic parts are what makes West's music sand out and give him a similar nerve which you can find in contemporaries such as Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Nicolas Jaar.
West is out on a European tour for his compilation album «Odyssey/Sonne» which comprises his two EP's of the same name.
